
Three Huskies Earn All-Region Accolades

SEATTLE – A trio of Husky juniors, Crissy Jones, Courtney Schwan, and Bailey Tanner, all were selected to the All-Pacific North Region Team today by the American Volleyball Coaches Association. The three are all first time recipients of the honor and are now eligible for All-America consideration.
All three All-Region honorees were also named to the All-Pac-12 Team a week ago. The Pacific North Region is made up of half of the Pac-12 Conference, along with multiple teams from the Big Sky Conference, Big West Conference, Mountain West Conference, and WCC. Pac-12 teams in the region including California, Stanford, Oregon, Oregon State, and Washington State.
Jones is second on the Huskies in total points scored with an average of 3.93 per set. She has 343 kills on the season with a .282 attack percentage, and leads the Huskies with 36 aces and is second on the team in total blocks with 115 or 1.03 per set. All her stats rank as career highs across the board.
Schwan leads the team in kills and points, averaging 3.75 kills per set and 4.13 points per set. The Pac-12 Player of the Year has a .312 attack percentage and also averages 2.78 digs per set. Schwan has led the Huskies in kills in 20 matches this season. She is the fourth Husky ever named Pac-12 Player of the Year.
Tanner earns her first All-Region honor after leading the Huskies to a .271 attack percentage this season. She averages 10.99 assists per set and is third on the team in service aces with 24. After splitting setting duties the past two years with 2015 grad Katy Beals, Tanner moved into a six-rotation role this year and has thrived. She has seven matches this season with 50+ assists. Tanner is also averaging career-bests in digs (2.04) and blocks (0.62).
Washington will be on its way to Lincoln, Nebraska this week for the NCAA round of 16, facing Arizona on Friday at 11:30 a.m. Pacific time on ESPN3.
