Name: Gianna Carideo
Position: Catcher
Number: 28
Hometown: Knoxville, Tenn.
Favorite part about being a Husky:
My favorite part about being a Husky is being a part of something that is bigger than myself. We are one team, with one goal, and we will accomplish all that we set our minds to.
Best part of playing for Coach Tarr:
The best part about playing for Coach Tarr is being coached by someone that has been in our shoes. Coach Tarr has been in the program and knows how things should be done. She studies the game so much, and is someone I look up to.
Why did you choose the number you wear?
I chose number 28 to honor my travel coach, Shelby Burchell. She has played a HUGE role in the player and person I have become, and I found this the best way to honor her.
My most embarrassing softball moment:
When I was playing little league, I hit a home run and tripped at third. I landed flat on my face, and had to get up and keep going.

Gianna In Her Own Words
I love being part of a competitive atmosphere, and becoming a better player. My teammates and family are the most important thing to me. I hope to one day give back to the game that has rewarded me so greatly. I love my roots and am proud of where I come from, but I am proud to call UW and Seattle my new home.
