
Huskies in the LPGA Update

In her first summer since turning pro, Soobin Kim competed in nine tournaments and made the cut in three. In the Meijer LPGA Classic Presented by Kraft, Kim shot a four-round total of 3-under 281 to finish T-47th on July 23. Competing in the Cambia Portland Classic on August 13, she recorded the highest finish of her pro career. Kim finished the tournament 9-under 279 to place T-13th. On August 20, Kim finished T-54th at the Canadian Pacific Women's Open, shooting 2-over 290. Most recently, Kim competed in The Evian Championship, which is now the fifth Major Championship event of the year. However, Kim did not make the cut shooting a 9-over 151 in her two rounds.
Also in her rookie year, Sadena Parks placed in five of nine tournaments this summer. Her most recent finish came at the Evian Championship on September 10, where she shot an 8-over 150 missing the cut by three strokes. On August 27 at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic, Parks shot a four-round total of 5-under 283 and placed T-29th, her second highest career finish. Her best finish came at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship on June 11. Parks shot 3-over 222 in the first three rounds, but finished strong shooting 6-under 67 in the final round to place T-22nd overall.
Jing Yan competed in eight tournaments in her first summer as a pro. Her best finish came at the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic. Yan shot 2-under 142 to make the cut in the first two rounds. She then shot 5-under 139 in the final rounds to finish 7-under 281, placing T-20th.
Paige Mackenzie competed in two LPGA events this summer, having turned pro in 2007. She began the summer in the Marathon Classic Presented by Owens Corning and O-I on July 16, shooting 15-over 157 in two rounds. Mackenzie then competed in the Cambia Portland Classic on August 13, finishing 7-over 151.
