LOS CABOS QUERENCIA, Mexico – No. 19 Washington is off to a strong start at the Querencia Cabo Collegiate, sitting in tie for third after round one. The Dawgs shot a score of 2-under 282 and are seven shots off the lead set by No. 2 Florida State.
The Dawgs are tied with No. 14 Stanford for third, while the Seminoles lead by one over No. 12 South Florida who is at 8-under. No other team is under par as the Huskies did well against an elite field that includes eight teams ranked inside the top-20.

Pan is not the only Husky near the lead as Corey Pereira is also in the top-10 after a 2-under 69. Pereira is tied for seventh after also closing well with an eagle and a birdie on two of his final three holes.
Frank Garber was the third Husky, shooting an opening round of 1-over 72. He is tied for 23rd after a round that included four birdies.
The final Husky scorer was Jonathan Sanders who is tied for 36th at 2-over 73. Sanders also made four birdies on the day to complete a strong four from the Dawgs.
Tyler Salsbury was the final Husky, but struggled to a 10-over 81. He is tied for 67th entering the second round on Monday.
The Dawgs will begin play on Monday at 9 a.m. local time, playing with the leaders. Beginning on the first five holes, Washington will know exactly where they stand as they look to climb the leaderboard in search of their first tournament title of the season.
