July 23, 2014 | Track & Field
SEATTLE – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association named its All-Academic honorees today, with seven Huskies earning the honor along with the women's team as a whole earning Scholar Team status.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, a student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and qualified to compete at the NCAA Preliminary Championships outdoors or finished in the top-96 of an individual event indoors.
On the men's side, senior high jumper A.J. Maricich earned a spot on the team for the second straight season. Sophomore javelin thrower Carson Fuller earned his first honor, as did sophomore hurdler Chris Williams, and junior multi-eventer Nick Pfeiffer.
For the women, all were selections. Senior hurdler Kayla Stueckle earned the fourth consecutive All-Academic Team honor, as did senior long distance standout Lindsay Flanagan. Both were Second Team All-Americans outdoors this spring. Junior mid-distance runner Eleanor Fulton also picked up her third straight honor.
The women's team as a whole owns a cumulative 3.19 grade point average, good for selection as a USTFCCCA Scholar Team.
