
Huskies Finish Pac-12 Play With Apple Cup Draw

PULLMAN, Wash. - UW women's soccer finished Pac-12 play Friday with a 1-1 draw in Pullman against Washington St. With the tie, the Huskies finished with a 5-4-2 record in conference play, their first winning record in the Pac-12 since 2008.
The Huskies (12-6-2, 5-4-2 Pac-12) got a a first-half goal from Chelsea Archer in the 17th minute, her second of the year. Forward Jaclyn Softli dribbled down the left side and beat the defense before sending a cross into the box that found Archer in stride. Her shot crossed the face of the goal and found the back of the right corner of the net.
Washington St. got its equalizer in the 80th minute when a WSU shot hit a UW defender and a hand ball was called in the box, awarding a penalty kick to the Cougars. Jocelyn Jeffers converted the penalty kick to knot the game at 1-1.
Both teams had chances throughout the remaining time and extra time, but neither could get a game-winner.
The two teams finished with California in a three-way tie for fifth place in the Pac-12. The Cougars finished with a 5-4-2 conference record and 10-4-4 overall.
The Huskies will find out their place in the NCAA Tournament picture Monday during the selection show, set to begin at 1:30 PT.
