COACHES ON OLESON: "Amanda is going to be moving over to shortstop for her senior season, which is her natural position. She's a fantastic athlete possessing speed and power from the left side. Her role this year will change offensively as we plan to utilize her power and ability to get the extra base hit a bit more than in the past."
AS A JUNIOR (2003): Started all 64 games at second base ... led team with 137 assists and ranked fourth in putouts with 127 ...scored 34 runs to rank third on the squad...successfully stole nine bases in 10 attempts ... went 3-for-4 with a RBI in the 3-0 win over Portland State (Feb. 28) ... went 1-for-3 with a double against Northwestern (Mar. 7) ... hit .500 (5-for-10) at the Kia Klassic, including 2-for-4 performances versus No. 4 Texas (Mar. 13) and No. 9 Cal State Fullerton (Mar. 14) ... notched a RBI in each of those games ... went 2-for-4 with one run scored against No. 12 Stanford (Mar. 29) ... hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored in win over Oregon (April 11) ... notched two hits and scored three runs in 7-0 romp over Oregon State (April 14) ... had a RBI-single in the win over Western Washington (April 22) ... hit a RBI-single versus Oregon State (May 2) ... went 2-for-5 against Oregon (May 3) with a two-RBI triple and single ... hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI versus the Ducks (May 4) ... went 2-for-4 with a run scored versus Arizona State (May 9) ... hit 2-for-4 with two runs scored in game one of the Arizona doubleheader ... went 3-for-5 with three runs scored in the nightcap ...hit a RBI-double against Mississippi State (May 16) at the Regional Tournament ... also hit a RBI single versus Iowa (May 18) in the Championship game ...hit in the go-ahead run against Oklahoma in the College World Series opener with a two-run double to center field ...also singled in WCWS games against Arizona and UCLA.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2002): One of four Huskies to have played in all 64 games ... missed her lone start of the season at Arizona, due to an ankle injury on April 5, but still managed to pinch hit in that game ... started at second base in the team's win over Santa Clara ... has started in five different defensive positions since arriving at Washington ... played in right field, at shortstop and at first as a freshman ... stole 18 bases this season, one of four Huskies in double-digits ... 10 game-winning runs and two game-winning RBIs ... 17 multi-hit games, six multi-RBI efforts ... opened the season with a pair of doubles to drive in four runs in the win over Long Beach State ... stole a career-high three bases against Louisiana-Monroe one day later ... at least one hit in seven of the first eight games ... scored the game-winning run in five straight Husky victories from February 16-March 2 ... had a sensational game offensively against Florida in the tournament championship, going 4-for-4 at the plate with two doubles and a triple ... career-best eight total bases versus the Gators ... her 4-for-4 performance came just one year and one day after she also went 4-for-4 against Utah ... notched the only run, scoring on an error in the team's 1-0 game with Utah State ... slapped her first home run of the year in the first game of the Kia Klassic ... clutch RBI single in the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded, as UW overcame a four-run deficit to down No. 1 UCLA, 9-6 ... crushed a triple with two runners on in the first inning of the 11-3 victory against then-No. 3 Stanford ... hit a team-high .423 over the last eight conference games (11-for-26) with four runs, three extra-base hits and five RBIs ... had a streak of 38 consecutive games without an error ... accounted for all three of the team's three runs in the regular season finale with No. 2 Arizona ... drove in the first two runs with a triple, before scoring on a fielding error ... hit .385 at the regional tournament, including two doubles and a home run ... named to the Regional 6 All-Tournament team.
AS A FRESHMAN (2001): Displayed her versatility, starting at four different positions ... started 37 games at first base, 10 games in right field, eight at third base and seven at shortstop ... a second team All-Pacific Region selection and one of three Huskies to earn Pac-10 honorable mention honors ... third on the team in overall batting average (.337), while scoring 30 runs and knocking in 29 ... had a team season-high 15-game hitting streak, which was second longest in the Pac-10, from February 11 through March 2 ... batted .436 during that span with 24 hits, seven runs and 10 RBIs ... missed just one of the team's 63 games versus Portland State on April 24 ... four game-winning RBIs to go along with four game-winning runs ... had 13 multi-hit and nine multi-RBI games ... played with a broken finger on her left hand, suffered in the team's first game, for most of the first half of the season ... 3-for-5 with two runs scored in the team's extra-inning affair with Georgia on February 11 ... team season-high four hits in five at-bats in UW's win over Hofstra on February 18 ... perfect at the plate in the team's five-inning win over Utah, driving in the winning run with a RBI-triple to left field ... helped the Huskies to a clean sweep in the team's first two home games, going 4-for-5 with seven RBIs and four runs scored against Texas ... scored the game-winning run in back-to-back games at the Kia Klassic versus Hawaii and New Mexico State ... her two-out single in the bottom of the third inning proved to be the game-winning run in the team's 1-0 upset of then-No. 2 Arizona ... hit her first collegiate home run against Portland State on April 11 and then hit another in the second half of the doubleheader with the Vikings ... had a two-run home run in the team's Pac-10 win over Oregon ... did not commit an error on defense in her first 19 career games ... season-best 13 putouts versus Utah State, California and Oregon ... tabbed for NCAA Region 5 All-Tournament honors after batting .500 (7-for-14) with four runs scored and a pair of RBIs ... singled in her first career postseason at-bat, driving in a pair of runs versus Seton Hall ... reached base three times in both of the team's games with UMass ... earned the team's Newcomer of the Year award.
HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letterwinner at Agoura High School ... named a first team All-Maramonte League selection as a senior ... selected to compete in the Ventura County All-Star game ... served as team captain in 2000 ... also lettered three years in volleyball and one year in soccer ... played summer ball three seasons for Stealth, under coach Steve Harrington and UW alumna Becky Newbry ... Stealth finished seventh at the 2000 Colorado Fireworks tournament and third at the 1999 ASA 18-and-under tournament.
