Dominique Lastrapes moved over from the playing field to the coaching staff in 2008 after an award-filled four-year career for the Huskies.
Lastrapes served as the programs director of operations after completing her career in 2007 and graduating in June with a degree in sociology. During her four years the Huskies went 152-85 and made trips to the Women's College World Series in 2004 and 2007.
As a senior, Lastrapes earned Second Team All-Pac-10 honors and was among 20 candidates for the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award presented to an NCAA Division I softball player who excels both on and off the field.
A career .342 hitter, Lastrapes started all 232 games that she saw action in and was twice named a Louisville Slugger/NFCA Third Team All-American (2004 and 2006). She was also a four-time All-Pac-10 pick, earning second team honors as a junior and senior, and honorable mention status as a freshman and sophomore.
In addition, she was named to the All-Pacific Region second team in each of her first three seasons and was a three-time Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention selection (2005-07).
Lastrapes is a native of Laguna Niguel, Calif., and was a four-time First Team All-CIF pick and two-time league MVP at Laguna Hills High School.
