University of Washington 2006-2007 (Freshman): Was 2-6 overall in singles and 2-4 in doubles...played No. 6 singles on Jan. 20 against Idaho and beat Joel Trudel, 7-6, 7-6 in his only dual match action...was 1-1 in doubles action in dual meets...lone win was with Daniel Chu on Feb. 16 against Portland...posted a 2-3 singles record in fall action...was 1-3 in fall doubles action, teaming with various partners...first career singles win came on Oct. 20 against Cal Poly's Russel Meyerowitz.

Holden KuioKalani Ching...native of Kamuela, Hawai'i...parents are Dana and Kalani...father is a Helicopter pilot...has two brothers, Jevin (11) and Muuhiwa (21) and three sisters, Kalei (28), Kaliko (26) and Uluwehi (24)...was a multi-sport athlete at Hawai'i Prep...competed in football, track and field, volleyball, and basketball...placed third in the Hawai'i State Tournament as a sophomore and was an All-State First-Team selection...did not compete in high school tennis his junior or senior years...represented the state of Hawai'i at the Nationals Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich...played No. 1 for Hawai'i at the U-16 Intersectionals and the U-18 Davis Cup...was unbeaten in Hawai'i for two-straight years.
"Holden is very talented and has some natural gifts out on the court that a lot of guys that have played for years might not have. He needs a little more of the day in and day out pounding to get a little more solid and consistent. I'm having fun coaching him and eager to see how he'll develop over the next couple of years."
