Washington: Three-year letterwinner...Has struggled with injuries the past three seasons but when healthy has been very successful...Can serve as hard as anyone on the team and is a very well-schooled doubles player, always hitting the right shots at the right time...Has been healthy and practicing well since the last month of last season, and should contribute in singles barring injuries.
1998-99 (Junior): Came back after missing six months because of a back injury to notch his first postseason win at No. 6 singles against Minnesota in the NCAA first round...Teamed with Nicholas Quatrochi to upset No. 40 Carlson-Corrales of Georgia in the NCAA second round in the No. 2 spot to help take the doubles point...Played just five singles matches during his injury-shortened season...Earned the team's Art Langley Scholar Award.
1997-98 (Sophomore): Played an important role while Andy Posavac was out with a wrist injury...Recorded an unblemished No. 6 singles mark of 4-0...Finished with an 8-5 overall singles mark...Paired with Nick Quatrochi at the No. 2 doubles position and recorded an 11-13 record...The two also competed at the Pac-10 Championships...He and Quatrochi defeated UCLA's Decret-Kramer, 9-8, in the NCAA Region 8 final to close out their season...Went 11-14 overall in doubles.
1996-97 (Freshman): Did not see any action during the fall season...Had an 8-6 doubles record with Eric Drew and was 10-9 overall...Won six straight matches with Drew in the No. 1 slot (Mar. 7-Apr. 5)...The duo defeated UC Santa Barbara's Duncan-Lee, 8-5, to help the Dawgs win the doubles point in the NCAA Region 8 semifinals...Played the Nos. 3, 4, 5 and 6 singles positions during the season...Posted a 7-9 overall singles record.
Juniors/High School: Ranked No. 2 in doubles and No. 4 in singles in under-18s in England...Won the national juniors championship in doubles in 1995...Defeated the world's No. 1 ranked junior player, Martin Lee, during a master's indoor tournament...Competed as a prep at Edgbston Priory.
