2011 (As A Freshman)
Earned Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honorable mention ... was the main right side hitter for the Huskies, as one of only two players to start all 32 matches along with Krista Vansant ... was fourth on the team with 167 kills, averaging 1.56 kills per set ... led the team with 27 service aces, ranking sixth in the Pac-12 with an average of 0.25 aces per set ... one of UW's primary passers, her 2.23 digs per set average ranked third on the team ... also was very strong at net, ranking third on the team with 1.07 blocks per set, just outside the top-10 in the conference rankings ... in Pac-12 play, upped her blocks to 1.15 per set, ranking ninth ... led the team in kills in two matches, a season-best 14 kill effort on Oct. 14 at Cal, and a 13 kill night on Nov. 18 at Utah ... the match at Cal was her first double-double with 14 kills and 14 digs while hitting .333 for a season-high 15.5 points ... also had a rare double-double in blocks and digs on Oct. 28 vs. Arizona State with 10 digs and 10 blocks, the first such double-double by a Husky since Sanja Tomasevic in 2003 ... seven matches with six or more blocks, leading or sharing the lead in blocks in nine matches ... led or shared the team lead in digs in four matches, with nine double-digit digs totals ... had a career-high 17 digs in Nov. 11 win at home over Stanford ... hit over .300 in 11 matches with a season-best .857 mark in her first match against Prairie View A&M on Aug. 26 (6-0-7) ... three matches with a season-high three aces, on Sept. 8 vs. Seattle, on Oct. 28 vs. Arizona State, and on Nov. 12 vs. California.

One of the nation's top recruits, she distinguished herself as arguably the best junior beach volleyball player in the world during the 2010 season ... became the first athlete, male or female, to win both the FIVB Youth World Championships and the FIVB Junior World Championships in the same year in 2010, going a combined 14-0 over both tourneys ... that unprecedented dual feat helped earn her the 2010 USA Volleyball Beach Female Athlete of the Year, the first time the award was ever given to a junior player ... earned a nomination for United States Olympic Committee SportsWoman of the Year in 2010 ... made history when she and Jane Croson became the first U.S. team to win the gold medal at the FIVB Youth (Under-19) World Championships on Aug. 1, 2010 in Porto, Portugal ... then proceeded to top that achievement she and partner Tara Roenicke became the first U.S. team to win the gold medal at the FIVB Junior (Under-21) World Championships in Alanya, Turkey, while Ross was still just 17 years old ... also managed to qualify for the main draw of two AVP Tour pro beach events in 2010, becoming the youngest duo ever to make the main draw, and competing in the main draw against Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor ... featured in Sports Illustrated's "Faces In The Crowd" after her Junior World Championships victory ... in 2009, placed fifth in both the FIVB Youth and Junior World Championships ... placed ninth with Croson at the 2008 FIVB World Junior Championships in England, the youngest pair ever to compete ... ranked No. 15 on PrepVolleyball.com's Senior Aces list in 2010 ... also listed among Volleyball Magazine's "Fab 50" high school players ... played club ball for Encinitas WAVE from 2005-07 and coach Katie Kahlweis, then played for Laguna Beach (coach Hava Davis) in 2008, followed by two years playing for Coast (coach Ozhan Bahambarie) in 2009-10 ... Coast VBC took fifth in the 18 Open division in both 2009 and 2010 at the USAV Girls' Junior National Championships ... played for Carlsbad High as a freshman and sophomore ... Carlsbad placed fifth at the CIF D-I state championships in 2007 after winning the Avocado League ... Ross was named first team Palomar League as a sophomore as Carlsbad won the league title in 2008 ... graduated a semester early and was the 2011 valedictorian of Carlsbad Seaside Academy.

Born in Carlsbad, California ... parents are Kathy and Tony Ross ... has one older brother, Chase, who is an outside hitter on the Pepperdine volleyball team ... mother's cousin, Jeff Partridge, was the starting punter for UW's football team in 1981-82 and is third in career punting average ... interests include the piano, swimming, biking around campus, and two boston terriers named Jerry and Newman.
