Year elected to Husky Hall of Fame: 1983
Was a member of the track and field team from 1962-63. Was youngest in the world to ever clear 16-0 in the pole vault indoors; established American record, and set first world record (16-5); was 1963 NCAA pole vault champion as sophomore, earning All-America honors; trampoline accident ended his career; named UW Athlete of the Year, named 1963 Co-Man of the Year in Sports by Seattle P-I.
