The fourth-fastest indoor 5000m runner in UW history ... a cancer survivor, has raised more than $6,000 for cancer research since 2004 as the founder of the Tri-Cities Race Against Cancer and the Race for the Cure in Shoreline.
2005-06: Was UW's No. 5 runner, in 24th overall, at the Sundodger Invite ... also ran at Willamette, placing 34th ... among UW's top-five at 3000m and 5000m during the 2006 track season ... placed 14th in the 5000m at Pac-10s, in 14:39.83 ... also ran the 1500m and 3000m outdoors, and competed in the mile, 3K and DMR indoors ... earned first-team Academic All-Pac-10 honors on the track.
2004-05: Returned in the fall of 2004, just six months after having a tumor removed ... was 35th overall, No. 4 for UW, at the 2004 Pac-10 Cross Country meet, and placed third overall at the Sundodger meet ... earned second-team Academic All-Pac-10 honors in the fall ... redshirted both track seasons.
2003-04: Competed just once during the 2003 fall season ... an Academic All-Pac-10 honorable mention honoree in cross country, and a second-team all-academic pick on the track ... a Pac-10 and NCAA Regional track qualifier at 5000m ... saw his outdoor season cut short by a tumor ... season-best 5000m time of 14:14.24 led all Huskies outdoors ... indoors, ran the 5K in 14:11.39, UW's fourth-best ever ... was ninth in the mile at MPSFs, in 4:08.28.
2002-03: Redshirted the fall ... ran 16th in the 1500m at Pac-10s ... was also a Pac-10 qualifier at 5000m.
High School and Personal: Parents are Eva and John ... has one brother, James ... placed fifth at the 2001 state 3A cross country meet in 16:13 ... earned all-state and all-league cross country honors in 2001 ... won two state track titles in 2002 ... captured the 1600m crown in 4:14.23, and won the 3200m in 9:09.58, both personal bests ... led Hanford to district and regional titles in 2001, and second at state ... placed fifth in the 3200m at state in 2001 ... ran second in the mile at the 2002 Pasco Invite ... an Academic All-State honoree ... majoring in poitical science.
