Missed the end of the 2007 season and the entire 2008 campaign after being diagnosed with lymphoma... Has been in remission since the spring and is cleared to play
2007 (Freshman)
Participated in five games and made two starts in goal... Allowed two goals in 261 minutes in net for a 0.69 goals-against average... Chosen the team's Most Inspirational Player... Earned a redshirt year after being diagnosed with her illness.

Recognized by Soccer Buzz as the No. 12 recruit in the nation coming out of high school... 2007 Parade Magazine All-American... In 2006, named an NSCAA All-American and first-team all-state at Charles Wright Academy.
Personal
Rated the top keeper coming out of Region IV in 2007... Has an impressive list of Olympic Development experience to her credit, dating back to 2003, including participation at a U.S. Under-17 National team camp in Carson, Calif., in 2006... In 2005, competed for the Under-16 National team on a Japan tour, in a game against Germany's U17 team and in a camp in Boca Raton, Fla.... Captained her ODP team in 2006... Played club soccer for the Eastside Red 88, helping her team finish in third place at the Far West Regionals... Proud to have two fathers, Roy Kussmann and biological father Gib LaFontaine... Mother is Deanna Kussmann.
