
UW Concludes Pac-12 Play, Awaits NCAA Selection

STANFORD, Calif. - The UW softball team concluded regular season play Sunday afternoon at Stanford, falling to the Cardinal 10-0 in five innings.
No. 14/15 UW (36-17, 7-16) will have a bye week next week and await the 2012 NCAA Selection Show which will air live on ESPNU, Sunday, May 13 at 7 p.m. PT.
No. 19/21 Stanford (36-16, 9-12), scored four times in the first and six more in the second and that would be enough to earn the run rule victory. Stanford concludes Pac-12 play at Utah.
Three Husky pitchers saw action in the game with sophomore Bryana Walker (La Quinta, Calif.) getting the start. She allowed four runs on four hits in 2/3 of an inning, falling to 9-5 on the year. Freshman Kasey Stanchek (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) allowed one run on one hit also in 2/3. Sophomore Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.) finished the game, allowing five runs, all unearned, on three hits in 2.2.
Teagan Gearhart got the win for Stanford, pitching the complete game shutout, allowing just four hits and two walks. She improves to 30-10.
Sophomore Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) led the Huskies with two hits.
