While Jennifer Yang led the Huskies with a final round 69 at the par-72, 6,200-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Course, it was SooBin Kim that finished highest among Husky competitors, tying for 12th at +6. Kim shot 75 on Sunday and Cyd Okino shot 77, the third best round by a Husky.
Kim entered the final round 3-over par and tied for 5th. She had five bogeys and two birdies on the final day. Despite dropping a few notches in the standings, Husky Coach Mary Lou Mulflur was impressed with her freshman's composure.
"It was such a great experience for her to be in that situation as a freshman," she said. "I thought she handled herself very well. A couple putts here and there and it might have been a different outcome. She definitely didn't have her best day, but she battled. She made some clutch putts when she had to.
"I was just really proud of her and I know that her experience today is going to help her down the road next time that happens."
