Sun Devils Take Game One, 6-4

SEATTLE - The No. 13 Huskies and No. 1 Sun Devils battled the rain for two hours Friday but were unable to get an official game in because of the field conditions. The game was suspended after four innings tied at 4-4 and concluded Saturday afternoon as ASU won 6-4.
On Friday night, Washington took a 1-0 lead in the first as junior Kimi Pohlman (Sammamish, Wash.) scored on a double to right by freshman Kaitlin Inglesby (Portland, Ore.).
Freshman left fielder Victoria Hayward (Mountain View, Calif.) made a great throw from left field to throw out the tying run at home.
Sophomore Shawna Wright led off the second with a walk. After a single to center by junior Jenna Clifton (Glendale, Ariz.), Pohlman hit a two-RBI single for a 3-0 UW lead.
ASU got a run in the top of the third with one out and a two-RBI single to right tied the game.
Junior Niki Williams (Mission Viejo, Calif.) led off the third with a solo home run to right field, her 13th of the season (unofficially) as UW went up 4-3.
With two outs in the fourth, an error on Williams allowed the tying run to score.
Day two of game one started in the top of the fifth at 2 p.m. on Saturday. ASU's Annie Lockwood was the leadoff batter and hit a solo home run. A bases loaded sacrifice fly made it 6-4 Sun Devils.
Two freshmen earned the start in the game as Dallas Escobedo from ASU earned the win, improving to 23-3, allowing six hits and four runs with five strikeouts.
Inglesby fell to 20-7 on the year, allowing five earned runs on 10 hits while striking out five.
Pohlman led the Huskies with two hits.
