UW Run Comes To A Close At Pac-10 Tourney

OJAI, Calif. - The Pac-10 Men's Tennis Championships came to a close today for the Huskies, as freshman Max Manthou fell in the invitational singles semis and Marton Bots and Matt Stith dropped a close doubles final in a tiebreak at Libbey Park.
Going for his third win in three days, Tacoma native Manthou was stopped by Warren Hardie of UCLA in the semifinal round of the secondary singles draw. Hardie took the match, 6-3, 6-2.
Bots and Stith faced California's Zack Gilbert and Sky Lovill in the invitational doubles final. The teams matched each other until 8-8, then played a tiebreak to decide it, but the Bears came out on top, 7-5.
The Huskies will now turn their attention to the NCAA tournament, selections for which will be made this Tuesday, May 3 for the team tourney and May 4 for individuals.
