
No. 11 Huskies Post Another Great Road Score

CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 11 Husky gymnast team completed its stretch of four-straight meets on the road as they finished second to No. 6 Oregon State at the Salbasgeon Suites Invitational on Friday night in Corvallis, Ore.
Washington posted another great road score and its second-highest score of the season, a 195.725. Oregon State won with a 196.675. San Jose State was third with a 193.050 and UC Davis finished fourth with a 192.950, respectively.
"This was our best meet of the year," said head coach Joanne Bowers. "To get this score on the road and to come home next week feels great. The team is just so pumped right now. We had the best beam routines I've seen and we hit all 24 routines."
Freshman Aliza Vaccher (Eugene, Ore.) posted a new career-high of 39.025 in the all-around to finish second. Junior Ruby Engreitz placed fourth in the all-around with a 38.950.
Engreitz tied a career-high with a 9.850 on floor, as did senior Kristen Linton (Edmonds, Wash.) who won the event with a 9.900. With a team score of 49.150 on floor, it's the best by the Huskies this season.
Junior Amanda Cline (Aurora, Colo.) was the top finisher on vault, placing fourth with a 9.825.
Linton and fellow senior Samantha Walior (Prior Lake, Minn.) led the Huskies tying for fifth place on the bars with 9.850's.
Senior Haley Bogart (Woodside, Calif.) and Walior tied for fifth on the beam with scores of 9.750.
The Huskies will be home next weekend for the first time since Jan. 28, as they host Michigan State on March 4 at 7 p.m. The men's club gymnastics team will also be competing vs. Arizona State.
