Pac-12/SEC Championship Final Results
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Soo Bin Kim fired a final round 68 at Holston Hills Country Club on Sunday to help Washington to a 10th place finish at the Mercedes-Benz Pac-12/SEC Championship.
Kim converted five birdies and had just one bogey in leading the ninth-ranked Huskies' effort on Sunday. The freshman's round included a bogey-free back nine that featured four birdies.
Her 66 helped her end up even-par 216 for the tournament and alone in sixth on the leaderboard. She now has three top-10 finishes in four tournaments this year for the Huskies.
"If she doesn't have a triple bogey on Friday and one on Saturday, she wins the dang tournament," Mary Lou Mulflur said from the Atlanta Airport. "But, that's the way it goes sometimes. She still played outstanding and continues to be very impressive."
After Kim, no Husky was able to crack the top-50. It was the first time this year that the Huskies finished outside the top-three.
"Sometimes you have a bad day," said Mulflur, who watched her Huskies shoot 31-over 895 over three days. "It just happens. We had a few things get away from us and that hurts. But, we'll learn from this and we'll work to get better."
Freshman Cyd Okino ended up tied for 53rd at +10 to finish second among Huskies. She shot 77 on the final day.
Sadena Parks entered Sunday tied for 29th but shot 81 and ended up tied for 67th at +13.
Sophomore Kelli Bowers had her best round of the tournament shooting 1-over 73. She had four birdies and five bogeys on the day to bring her final total to 14-over 230.
Jennifer Yang struggled all three days and ended up tied for 85th at +16. She shot 81 on the final day.
No. 6 Alabama ended up +1 (865) to win the tournament. The Crimson Tide kept No. 1 UCLA out of first-place for the first time this season. The Bruins were second at +5.
No. 2 Auburn was third, while Tennessee and USC tied for fourth.
Alabama's Stephanie Meadow took home medalist honors after ending up 5-under 211. Vanderbilt's Lauren Stratton finished second, two strokes behind Meadow.
