PALO ALTO, Calif. - ITA Northwest Regionals came to a close today at Stanford's Taube Tennis Center, and UW's top doubles duo came up just short of the regional title, falling 8-6 in the finals.
Senior Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and sophomore Kyle McMorrow, ranked 25th nationally, had an early break on California's Chris Konigsfeldt and Nick Andrews but were unable to sustain it, and the Bear duo, which upset the top seeds in the semis, pulled out the close win to earn the bid to ITA National Indoors.
Nedunchezhiyan and McMorrow will next be in action when UW hosts the PNW Intercollegiates from November 5-7 at the Nordstrom Tennis Center.
