General Comments
"I really wanted this match and I thought we played well, they played better. Unfortunately that's the way it was. They just kept coming up with shots again and again on different courts, I was very impressed."
On what he expected from Illinois
"I actually thought one of their best areas was the doubles point and I thought if we could get that we would really be off and running but even if we played it well I was pretty confident, and we were right there to win it. I really came away thinking we matched up pretty well. But they were the ones coming up with the shot at break point and they were that tough all the way through the line-up."
On UCLA
"I think back to our Pac-10 season last year and every match was so close, and that's what we have in store for us again this season. So I think it's going to be a barnburner of a match and that's what these matches all are. Last night's match I had a lot of fun and I felt good when I left. Tonight's match I had a lot of fun, I don't feel as good right now but they're just great to be a part of."
On Slovic
"It was his most consistent from start to finish. He actually dropped serve at one all in the first and came right back and stayed on it from then on."
