Washington vs. Gonzaga

With its win over Gonzaga, Friday, Washington has now won 10-straight non-conference games at home. The Huskies are 5-0 on their home floor this season, after going 5-0 last season against non-Pac-10 foes. The last non-conference home loss for the Huskies was Dec. 21, 2004, versus Colorado (76-74 in overtime).
Washington's win also continued its unbeaten streak at home. UW is 5-0 at Bank of America Arena this season.
Washington's win tonight improved its all-time record in the series vs. Gonzaga to 17-0.
With 17 points, senior guard Cameo Hicks recorded her fifth-straight double-figure scoring game and ninth overall. She now has 1,121 career points which ranks 20th on the UW all-time scoring list.
As a team, the Huskies recorded a season-high 14 steals and 6 blocks and a season-low 16 fouls. The Huskies had previous highs of 13 steals (Purdue 11/17), 4 blocks (EWU 11/21/06, and a previous low 17 fouls (Texas A&M 12/6).
Redshirt sophomore guard Stefanie Clark recorded her second-straight double-figure scoring game, and fifth overall.
Emily Florence grabbed a career-high 5 steals to go along with a team-high 6 rebounds. Florence's had recorded 4 steals on 6 previous occasions, the most recent coming against Purdue on November 17.
Washington built as much as a 17-point lead in the first half, thanks to a 17-2 run. Hicks' jumper in the lane off a fast break capped the run with 9:15 remaining in the opening half to give UW a 30-13 lead. Gonzaga responded with a 13-3 run of its own to cut the Husky advantage to seven with 5:04 remaining (33-26).
Washington wraps non-conference play and its longest homestand of the season hosting No. 23 Florida State, Sunday, at 1 p.m. The Huskies will open Pac-10 play at Oregon (Dec. 21) and Oregon State (Dec. 23) next week. The OSU game will be televised live on FSN Northwest at 4 p.m. PT.
