With Sunday's win over Northern Iowa, Washington claims its 13th Husky Classic Title.
Miami edged Saint Louis 85-83 in the Husky Classic Consolation game. Amanda Jackson paced the RedHawks with a (tournament-high?) 28 points. Jenna Schone added 17 points for Miami. SLU's Tyler McIlwraith scored a team-high 23 points to go along with nine rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Cameo Hicks had recorded two straight 20-point efforts, and four straight games in double figures, before the Northern Iowa game where she finished with eight points.
Breanne Watson has scored in double figures in each of the last two games. Against St. Louis she finished with 16 points, and against Northern Iowa she scored 14.
Jill Bell recorded her fifth career double-double, and her second double-double of the season, with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Her other double-double came against Eastern Washington, where she had 15 points, and 13 rebounds.
Washington recorded 21 offensive rebounds compared to Northern Iowa's 12. The Huskies also tallied 22 second-chance points while Northern Iowa finished with only six.
UW improves to 2-0 at home.
