Huskies Finish Sixth at PING/ASU Invitational

Tempe, AZ - The eighth-ranked Washington women's golf team completed the PING/ASU Invitational in sixth place. The Huskies shot 9-over 297 during Sunday's final round to complete the 54-hole event at 31-over 895.
Arizona State won its own tournament for the first time since 1999, finishing at 6-over 870. The Sun Devils tied UCLA, but took home the championship trophy by winning the tiebreaker. Pepperdine was third at 888 followed by Arizona at 891 and California at 894.
Washington was led by junior All-American Paige Mackenzie who placed fifth at even-par 216. She shot 2-over 74 during the final round. Her performance matched her best score against par this year. She also finished at even-par at the Stanford Intercollegiate.
Mackenzie's performance was her fourth top-10 outing this year and the 15th of her career. Mackenize ranks third on UW's all-time list for top-10 finishes and is now just five behind Kelli Kamimura, UW's career leader with 20.
Sun Devil freshman Louise Stahle won her second tournament title of the year for ASU, finishing with a three-round total of seven-under 209. Stahle captured the three-stroke victory over UCLA's Amie Cochran.
Junior Sung Ea Lee turned in UW's top score during the final round, carding a 72 to finish 28th at 225. Amber Prange was 41st at 227, Kim Shin was 54th at 231 and Ashley Bickerton was 65th at 234.
Washington returns to action April 9-10 at the California Collegiate hosted by Stanford.
