
UW Women Golfers in Ninth Place at Duck Invitational

Eugene, OR - The fourth-ranked Washington women's golf team is in ninth place after the opening two rounds of play at Oregon's Duck Invitational. The Huskies got off to a poor start, shooting 29-over 317 during the first round and then 20-over 308 during the afternoon session for a 36-hole total of 625.
Oregon and Washington State are tied for first place in the 17-team field at 600. California is third at 606. Washington State's Kim Welch leads the field at 1-under 143 while Oregon's Kimberly McCready and Fresno State's Laura Luethke are one stroke behind her heading into Tuesday's final round.
Washington was led by freshman Kim Shin who is 11th overall at 151. She had rounds of 77 and 74. Sung Ea Lee and Ashley Bickerton are tied for 22nd at 154 while Paige Mackenzie is 50th at 161. Courtney McCracken is 54th at 162 and Amber Prange is 67th at 166.
Washington has managed to finish in the top five of all six tournaments it has played in this season.
