Husky B-Squad in Fourth Place at WN Winter Championships

Washington's B-Squad is in fourth place after one round of play at the Washington National Winter Championship. The Huskies shot 18-over 306 and trail Oregon by 7 strokes. The nine-team event is comprised mostly of each school's B-Team or junior varsity squad.
Washington was led by Joe Panzeri and Chad Gorney, who both shot 3-over 75 to tie for 10th. Oregon's Jay Snyder and Idaho's Ty Popplewell led the field at 2-under 70.
Gorney is one of two new walkons to the Husky squad competing in their first collegiate event. Seth Yates, also making his UW debut, shot 81.
Due to a frost delay the tournament will be shorted to a 36-hole event. The teams will start second round play at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.
