Washington improved to 75-28 in all-time season-opening games.
The Huskies' all-time record in home-opening games is not 83-19.
Washington increased its regular-season series advantage over Seattle Pacific to 10-0. The two Seattle-area schools played for the first time in a regular-season game since Dec. 5, 1981.
Junior forward Mike Jensen registered a career-high 13 rebounds. He also posted the second double-double of his career with 14 points and 13 rebounds. His first double-double was a 14-point, 10-board effort against Oregon on Feb. 12, 2004.
Sophomore forward Hans Gasser tallied a career-high six points. His previous best was four points against Columbia on Dec. 30, 2003.
Two players saw their first regular-season action in a Husky uniform. Freshman Joel Smith scored 15 points in 27 minutes. Red-shirt junior Matt Fletcher was scoreless in 6 minutes of action. Sophomore guard Brandon Burmeister made his first career start and was scoreless in 28 minutes played.
Washington averaged 82.0 points per game last season, the highest scoring output since the 1972 Huskies finished with a school record 84.8-point average. With 89 points tonight the Huskies have eclipsed the 80-point plateau in 6 of their last 9 games going back to last season. Washington was 14-4 last season when scoring 80 or more points.
