Husky Golfers Fifth After Pac-10 First Round

Corvallis, OR - The 20th-ranked Washington women's golf team is in fifth place at 12-over 300 after the opening round of the Pac-10 Championships at Trysting Tree Golf Club. Washington is eight strokes behind first-place California and trails third-place UCLA by just two strokes. USC, ranked fifth nationally, is two strokes behind the eighth-ranked Golden Bears on the leaderboard.
The Huskies were led Thursday by freshman Sung Ea Lee (Tacoma), who carded a 1-under score of 71 on the 6,160-yard course. Lee is tied with California's Vikki Laing for third place. They are just one stroke behind co-leaders Sarah Huarte of Cal and USC's Mikaela Parmlid. Arizona's Erica Blasberg, the nation's top-ranked competitor, is among three golfers tied for fifth at even-par 72.
Washington's Louise Friberg is ninth overall after shooting 74. Lindsay Morgan carded a 76 for 19th while Michelle Grafos turned in a 79 and Katie Kofmehl shot 95.
