Head Coach June Daugherty
"The Wildcats played awesome. Coach Bonvicini and her staff really had their kids ready. They played a great game and took us out of a lot of things. Their big three stepped up and put up the big numbers and we had a lot of trouble with their defense. We give them a lot of credit. It was one of those days where it wasn't the day for the Dawgs. There is no doubt about it, the Wildcats should be given a lot of credit for taking us out of a lot of things on both ends of the floor."
"(Krista Warren) has been doing that for four years. She's terrific. We were trying to rotate fresh bodies and deny the ball in the post and not let the high-low game get going because they are so good at it no matter who is high, whether it is (Shawntinice) Polk or Warren. There were times where we were a little bit effective but there were too many times where we weren't. They have great timing in the high-low game and a great feel for where each other is. It made for a lot of easy buckets down low."
"I think the big difference was defensively they took us out of our tempo and we had a lot of trouble getting into our running game and because of the variety of defenses, switching man-to-man and the different looks, we just didn't do a very good job of moving the basketball. We had too much dribbling today and not enough cutting in our motion and when that happens you get people trying to play off the dribble too much. That's not necessarily our forte. Give Arizona credit for that."
Junior guard Giuliana Mendiola
"My ankle is fine. I think I sprained it but I'll be fine. Defensively they kept switching up defenses going man-to-man, zone, full court pressing. Arizona played great on both ends of the court and I didn't think we did. That's just the bottom line."
Junior center Andrea Lalum
"Down low they're incredible. They have a great front line. We just tried to match up with them and push them out as far as we could and not let them get so much inside but so many times they went four out and left me in there without any help side. They had a lot of great lobs and our help side just wasn't there tonight.
"I think when Giuli is kind of struggling out there it affects us to a certain extent. But I think we have the talent that any one of us on any given night can step up and fill that roll if we need to. But I think everyone was just struggling and because they switched it up so much we couldn't get in a rhythm."
