Washington's 94-76 win was its 10th in a row at home, the team's longest home streak since the 1981-82 season.
Junior Giuliana Mendiola tonight totaled 22 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists for her fifth double-double of the season, and 10th of her UW career. Mendiola's point total was one off her season-high of 23, set against this same USC team in Los Angeles on Jan. 5, while her nine field goals (on 13 attempts) equaled a career-high set on numerous occasions.
The Huskies' 94 points are its second most-ever in the USC series, trailing only a 104-point output on Jan. 27, 1989.
After USC cut Washington's lead to one, at 60-59 with 10:32 to go, Washington went on an 8-0 run over the next two minutes, and outscored the Women of Troy, 34-17, the rest of the way.
Washington's 22 assists were a Pac -10 season high for the Huskies, who were led by the eight assists - including five before halftime - of junior guard Giuliana Mendiola.
Sophomore Andrea Lalum opened the game on a tear, scoring 10 points in the first 4:28, on 4-for-4 shooting. Lalum finished the game with a career-high five three-point field goals, two more than her previous best.
Washington's 12 three-pointers in tonight's game were a Pac-10 season-high, and the second most-ever by a USC opponent. The Huskies have now hit at least 10 three-pointers in consecutive games - including last Saturday's 11-three outburst against Oregon State - for the first time since December, when they accomplished the feat in five straight games.
USC center Ebony Hoffman tied a career-high with 27 points.
Washington pulled down nine of the game's first 10 rebounds (over the game's first six minutes), and finished with a 34-32 rebounding advantage. The Huskies have now outrebounded their opponent in three-consecutive games, after losing the rebounding battle in five of the previous six contests.
Washington his 18 of 20 free throws in tonight's contest, for a .900 percentage that is its second-best of the 2002-03 season.
