With a conference record of 12-6, Washington is claims a three-way share of the Pac-10 championship along with Arizona State and Stanford.
Washington head coach June Daugherty
"I thought we played well. I thought we played hard. Our shots didnt fall.
Thats basketball, plain and simple. Its been good to us most of the year,
today it wasnt. But it didnt cost us the championship. I am so proud of
this team, to go from ninth place all the way up to the championship. To
be Pac-10 champions - we are fired up about it. I am so proud. Words can
not express how proud I am of these seniors.
"If the shots dont fall, I can accept that as a coach. But we are Pac-10 champions. Were so excited about that. Were going to the NCAA Tournament. For this team to go from ninth place last year, to the championship, is a dream come true. They deserve it all."
