SEATTLE - Two Cardinal errors proved to be the difference on Sunday, as the top-ranked Huskies pulled out a 1-0 win over No. 11 Stanford before 1,922 fans at Husky Softball Stadium. UW improves to 50-5 and 12-2, while Stanford falls to 39-14 and 5-10.
Jenny Topping doubled to lead off the second inning, and pinch runner Jessica Bork rounded the bases on consecutive errors by the Cardinal shortstop and third baseman during Kim DePaul's at-bat for the only run of the game. Stanford outhit UW, 6-2, but advanced only one runner as far as second base all game.
Jamie Graves (22-3) went the distance for the Huskies, striking out eight in the win. SU's Dana Sorensen fell to 20-7.
Washington will take a break from Pac-10 action on Tuesday when it hosts Portland State in a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.
