AMHERST, Mass. - The No. 16 Washington Husky soccer team suffered its second shutout of the season, falling 2-0 to Hartford on the first day of the UMass Soccer Classic. The Huskies, now 3-2-1, will face host UMass tomorrow at 1 p.m. ET.
Despite outshooting the Hawks and posting a 14-0 corner-kick advantage, Washington could not get a ball past Hartford keeper Chris Doyle, who had four saves and an assist on the afternoon. UH's Henrik Jacobsson started the scoring at 21:08 off a pass from Peter Sjolin. Then, 15 minutes later, Doyle booted a punt down the field to a waiting Michael Zeller, who raced to the goal to give Hartford (2-3) a 2-0 lead.
