Laffling Lifts Huskies Past OSU

SEATTLE - Thanks to the continued resurgence of senior Kristina Laffling, the Washington volleyball team broke its five-match losing streak Friday night with a 3-1 win over Oregon State at the Pavilion Addition. Game scores were 15-9, 12-15, 15-4, 15-7.
Laffling, who finished one block short of a triple-double last match at Washington State, posted 25 kills and 13 digs to lead both teams Friday night. The quick hitter from Richmond, B.C., also had six blocks and two aces.
The Huskies improved to 7-11 overall and 3-7 in the Pac-10, moving a spot ahead of Oregon State, which is 8-10, 2-8.
Washington also got 16 kills and eight blocks from sophomore Lisa Underhill. Malena Thompson (11 kills) and Paige Benjamin (10) also reached double-digits.
Oregon State was led by 19 kills and .317 hitting from Sarah Bjeldanes. Angie Shirley tallied 12 kills and eight blocks for the Beavers as well.
The Huskies take on Oregon tomorrow at 7:00 p.m. at the Pavilion Addition
