LAKE CHELAN, Wash. -- The Washington junior varsity and varsity rowers swept all four races at the Campbell Cup, an early season regatta held on Lake Chelan Saturday morning.
The men's varsity eight clocked a time of 3 minutes, 36.1 seconds over the 1,200-meter course in its race. Gonzaga followed in second place at 3:49.4 and Washington State was third at 3:57.9.
In the women's varsity eight, the Huskies covered the course in 3:56.9, ahead of Gonzaga at 4:18.1. The men's junior varsity eight won in 3:46.9, ahead of Gonzaga at 3:55.7 and the women's JV won in 4:04.0, while GU was behind in 4:12.5.
Washington will next compete in the Portland Loop, Nov. 6 at 8 a.m. on the Williamette River in Oregon.
