Richard Reece has been a long-serving member of UW soccer, joining in 2005 and recently completing his 21st season on the Husky sideline. Reece has helped UW to three Pac-12 titles, the Huskies have made four trips to the NCAA Quarterfinals, including three straight NCAA Quarterfinals appearances from 2019-21 the 2021 National Final and ultimately winning the National Championship in 2025.
Reece has developed multiple Husky keepers that have played in the MLS: Chris Eylander, Spencer Richey, Jacob Castro and Stockton Short with the Seattle Sounders, Ryan Herman, a first-round MLS Draft pick to FC Dallas, Auden Schilder drafted to San Jose Earthquakes, and Rylan Hawkins with New England Revolution. Alongside the goalkeepers, Reece works closely with the team's defending unit which has seen many drafted and play in the MLS as well as receiving All American accolades through their college career.Â
Reece holds the prestigious UEFA "A" license along with the USSF "A" coaching license, a USSF National Goalkeeping License, a USSF Youth license, a NSCAA Premier Diploma and Director of Coaching License. He has also worked with US youth national teams on both the men’s and women's programs.Â
Reece and his wife Brooke reside in Woodinville, Wash. with their daughters Jazzy and Charlie.
