Liberty Bracken is the Associate Athletic Director for Academic Excellence at the University of Washington, a role she stepped into in April 2024. In this capacity, she oversees the academic support for 22 teams and more than 600 student-athletes, ensuring they achieve success in the classroom while balancing the demands of collegiate athletics. She also leads the daily operations of the Student-Athlete Academic Services department and serves as a member of the Intercollegiate Athletics Senior Leadership team.
Bracken has been with the University of Washington since 2005, dedicating many years of service to the academic and personal success of student-athletes. She began her journey as a work-study student in the tutorial office of the athletic department two weeks out of high school, where she discovered her passion for supporting student-athletes in their academic pursuits. Over the years, she has held various positions within the department, including serving as an academic advisor for multiple teams including football, men's soccer, men’s rowing and softball. Prior to her current position, she served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Football Academics, where she was instrumental in guiding the football team to an NCAA-record Academic Progress Rate (APR) score of 999 out of 1,000 for the 2018-2019 academic year, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Education in Intercollegiate Athletics Leadership from the University of Washington.
While in high school at Blanchet, Bracken compete in triple jump, the 200m, and the 4x200m relay for the track team.
