Washington womenβs tennis head coach Robin Stephenson has announced the hiring of Jessie Aney as the new assistant coach on September 10, 2025.

Aney makes her way to Montlake from the professional ranks and previously serving as a volunteer assistant at Charlotte.

In her time as a professional, Aney reached a No. 104 doubles ranking and a No. 304 singles ranking. She has won three singles and 22 doubles titles on the ITF Tour. Aneyβs most recent doubles titles came at the 2025 ITF Bengaluru Open and the 2025 ITF Chihuahua with partner Jessicia Failla.

While at Charlotte, Aney helped the team reach a record-high ranking of No. 30 and reaching the first round of the NCAA Championship in 2023. The season, the 49ers had the second-most wins in program history (22) on their way to their first appearance in the Championship.

During her time as a student-athlete at North Carolina, Aney helped the team to the 2018 Team National Indoor title and was the 2016 Riviera/ITA All-American Doubles Champion. She was a three-time All-American doubles player (one of two student-athletes in program history to earn that many honors) and All-ACC selection while guiding the Tar Heels to four ACC Championships and a No. 1 ITA team ranking. Aney is tied for third in program history with 127 career singles victories and posted an overall doubles record of 112-33.

In addition to her time as a tennis student-athlete, Aney also competed on the North Carolina menβs club ice hockey team and while at UConn competed on NCAA ice hockey team.

Aney earned her bachelorβs in business administration with a finance concentration from UNC and a masterβs degree in philosophy from UConn.
