Since joining UW in 1999, McGuire has worked with gymnastics, cross country, track, and softball. Before joining the Huskies, McGuire worked as the equipment manager with the Seattle Sounders and Tacoma Stars soccer clubs as well as working in the Seattle Mariners visiting clubhouse.
McGuire served as US Soccer’s first national teams equipment manager. He worked with the US National Team at the 1990 World Cup and helped prepare gear for the team before they traveled to the Women’s World Championship in China in 1991.
He lives with his wife, Karen, in Bellevue and has two adult children, Brittney and Nathan. McGuire enjoys traveling, the Sounders, and independent, local craft beer.
