Elle Logan retired from her international career as one of the most decorated rowers in U.S. history.
A three-time Olympic gold medalist and a NCAA champion, Logan was also named the Pac-12's Rower of the Century in 2017, as the conference celebrated its 100th anniversary.
A native of Portland, Maine, Logan rowed at Stanford under current UW head coach Yaz Farooq. Together, they helped the Cardinal to its first NCAA championship in 2009. At Stanford, she was the 2011 Pac-10 Athlete of the Year for rowing and a four-time CRCA first-team All-America selection. She was inducted into the National Rowing Hall of Fame along with the 2008 U.S. women's eight.
Logan was a key cog in the United States women's eight's decade of domination as she won gold medals with that crew in 2008, 2012 and 2016. She also won three World Championships in the women's eight, in 2010, 2011 and 2014. Additionally, she earned a silver in the women's four in 2009 and in the women's pair in 2015.
During her post-college career, Logan based her training in Bellingham and has now settled down in Seattle.
