After a successful career as an athlete with the Huskies, Whitney Jones returned to UW as a coach in 2018. The former Husky outfielder and pitcher serves as Washington's outfield coach, a group that has hit over .300 each of her four years as a coach and has committed just 20 errors over four years. Washington's outfield group has four All-Region and five All-Pac-12 honors in Jones' time. The Huskies have also seen its outfield group earn seven Pac-12 Player or Freshman of the Week awards.
While playing at UW, Jones was twice an Pac-12 All-Academic performer and was an All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention in 2014. She earned a master's degree at Tulsa as well as her strength coach certification. In her one year as head coach at Garfield High School, Jones led the school to its first ever state championships trip, earning Garfield Coach of the Year honors after going 19-8.
