Nic joined the University of Washington Olympic Strength & Conditioning staff in June 2017. He is responsible for Men’s Rowing, Softball and assisting with Track and Field. Higgins came to Washington from DePaul University where he served as Assistant Director of Sports Performance. While at DePaul he oversaw the strength and conditioning programs for Women’s Soccer, Men’s Golf, and Track and Field. Previous to DePaul, he spent two and half years assisting at the University of Texas in both the Football and Athletic Performance Departments.
Nic earned a Master’s of Science in Exercise and Science and Health Promotion with a concentration in Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention from California University of Pennsylvania in 2013. Nic earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercises Science from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2012. During his time as an undergraduate he served as an intern at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and University of Minnesota.
Nic is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, and is CPR/AED certified.
