Kristen Brownlee joins the Huskies as an intern assistant coach for the 2015-16 season.
Brownlee is a Tampa, Fla., native and graduated in 2014 from Yale with a degree in architecture after coxing for four years with the Bulldogs. She spent the 2014-15 rowing season working with the Harvard lightweight men as she completed earned an Advanced Certificate in Rowing Leadership from the Institute of Rowing Leadership.
During her time as a coxswain at Yale, Brownlee led her women’s crews to medals at the Ivy League Championships in each of her four years. She coxed the varsity eight as a freshman at the NCAA Championships in 2011 and took her crew to the semifinals of the Remenham Cup at the 2014 Royal Henley Regatta. She was a CRCA Scholar Athlete in 2012, a member of the All-Ivy Second Team in 2013 and named to the CRCA First-Team All-New England in 2013.
Brownlee rowed internationally as a member of the 2009 U.S. Junior National High Performance Team which raced in Germany. She also won gold with her club with the eights at the 2008 USRowing Club Nationals.
