Heritage Months, Holiday & Community Engagement & Celebration Strategy
In an effort to commemorate and honor important holidays, heritage celebrations, and community outreach, the external engagement strategy was created to provide an outline for UW Husky stakeholders to take part in these celebrations and engage with the community throughout the year in a meaningful and intentional way.
The strategy is rooted in three pillars:
Celebrate & Honor
Acknowledge and celebrate diverse culture & community.
Educate & Advocate
Educate stakeholders inside and/or outside of the athletic department about the community’s history, culture, challenges, triumphs, etc.
Connect & Empower
Connect with and advance the goals of the surrounding campus, community, and organizations that support, advocate for and empower the community.
"Working alongside Sheridan as the designer and content creator for many of our DEI initiatives the last year has been both professionally satisfying and fulfilling. As an Asian-American, I was particularly proud to be able to bring awareness to the historical achievements and cultural contributions of Asian immigrants to the fabric of America, as well as illustrate the challenge of acceptance that the AAPI community continues to face to this day during our celebration of Asian American Heritage Month."
