Ameera Hussen | Federal Way, Washington
Few Huskies have matched the offensive impact of Ameera Hussen. Ameera has scored multiple goals in each of her last three years, with assists in three of four years as well. Hussen has played over 60 games as a Husky, starting over half of those in the midfield. Ameera has come up big in the biggest moments as well, scoring three gamewinners and helping the Huskies go undefeated in games in which she scores a goal.
This season, Hussen has started 11 of Washington's 12 games, missing one game with injury. Eight times she has played 70+ minutes, including three games with 90 or more. Her three goals this year have helped the Huskies take down Cal, Arizona, and Seattle Pacific, while her ability to move the ball forward in the midfield has created countless scoring chances.
Ameera is graduating with a political science degree with an emphasis in human rights and social welfare and hopes to work in public policy to advance racial progress within American institutions. She has already shown her commitment to the community, having spent time volunteering at the Denney Juvenile Detention Center and the Haring Center.
