One of the best parts of my experience at Washington was being able to serve as the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee President and work to create positive change for student-athletes. This gave me the opportunity to help improve the student-athlete experience at UW for myself and my peers as well as be a voice for student-athletes at the university and conference level. For any role, advocacy and community are two aspects that are really important to me and working with SAAC was a way for me to fulfill both."Michaela Nelson

Being a GymDawg means being a part of the Seattle community. The GymDawgs work hard off the competition floor to better the lives of those around them. Whether that be building affordable housing, serving pancakes to students, sponsoring safe Halloween events for children, or any other event, the GymDawgs recognize the importance of building a strong community and helping all those around them.
