Parking Policies
GENERAL PARKING POLICIES
One-Pass Policy
One (1) parking pass is good for one (1) automobile or car in one (1) parking stall. Autos may not occupy more than one parking space. There are a limited number of parking spaces available and it is important that every pass sold has a designated space.
Spaces for Vehicles Only
Parking spaces are for vehicles only. The use of parking spaces for other reasons, such as portable grills, tents, or chairs, is not permitted except in authorized areas. All tailgating items should be in front of or behind your vehicle without infringing on other parking spaces, the drive lane or emergency access lane. There are a limited number of parking spaces at the University of Washington for the 70,000 fans attending football games. It is important to make every possible space available for use in parking.
Trailers
Trailers are not permitted in the general parking area without a permit. Trailers must fit in a single parking space behind the vehicle. If space is available, trailers without a permit may be allowed to park in E4 lot (additional fees apply). There are a limited number of parking spaces and it is important that every fan with a permit has a place to park.
Saving Spaces
Saving spaces for other motorists is not permitted in any lot at any time. Parking for Husky Football Games is on a first-come, first-serve basis except in lots with reserved spaces.
Law Enforcement and Traffic Directions
Motorists should follow the directions given by law enforcement, traffic, and parking staff. Law enforcement, traffic, and parking staff along traffic routes and parking lots are there to assist and direct motorists to the best routes for the closest available parking. With so many people coming to Montlake on game days, staff assist with getting everyone in and out of Husky Stadium as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Travel Lanes
Tailgating is not permitted in travel lanes. No tents, chairs, or other items may be placed in travel lanes. The rear legs of the tent must be in front of the rear tires of the vehicle. Specific parking lots have purple dots designating the space allowed for vehicles and tailgating. Violators of this policy will be asked by UW Police to dismantle the tent, tarp, or canopy. There are a limited number of parking spaces available for Husky Football games. It is important to make every space available for use for parking. When travel lanes are blocked, it is difficult to get all motorists into their designated parking lot in addition to emergency vehicles being able to assist fans.
Overnight Parking
Overnight parking is prohibited prior to game days at Husky Stadium. Parking lots are used by University of Washington faculty, staff, and students. University of Washington officials need the overnight hours to get the lots ready for game day. Parking lots open a minimum of six (6) hours prior to kickoff.
Emergency Access Lanes
All emergency access lanes must be kept clear at all times with no exceptions. Emergency crews must be able to access all areas of each parking lot in order to better assist guests.
