FOOTBALL GAME DAY!
Guide to Sustainability
The University of Washington Department of Athletics is committed to a sustainable future through innovated programs, ever increasing waste diversion goals and sustainable building practices. This season we are turning up our efforts higher than ever before to reach our waste diversion goal of 80%!
What to look for during football home games:
PREGAME:

Look out for the Green Team in the #GOGREENHUSKIES CART as well as in the Zone to WIN TICKETS to future UW Athletics Events! Eco, our sustainability mascot, and the Green Team, will be driving the #GOGreenHuskies Golf Cart around the tailgating areas before the game. Volunteers are also located in the Zone, giving out raffle tickets to everyone who comes by to say hello! They are also there to answer all your sustainability related questions!
The RAFFLE WINNER will be announced during 2nd quarter on Twitter: @GoGreenHuskies & Facebook: @UWGreenAthletics.
Prize can be picked up at the Green Team booth in The Zone during halftime.
Green Team Volunteers! UW fans dedicated to increasing waste diversion will be roaming the tailgating areas, stadium and The Zone giving away raffle tickets, prizes, and offering information on sustainability in and around the stadium.
BLUE BAGS! Look for volunteers handing out even more blue recycle bags in the tailgate areas. Blue recycling bag dispensers have also been installed on light posts in E12 and in the Padelford lot for fan convenience.

Even MORE Recycle and Compost Bins in Tailgating Areas! Tailgating areas have increased their recycling bins as well as for the first year ever, we will be offering compost bins in the E12 Parking lot, so keep an eye out when disposing of your waste!

GAMEDAY RECYCLING CHALLENGE
OCTOBER 7, 2017
The GameDay Recycling Challenge is a friendly competition for colleges and universities to promote waste reduction at their football games. During the challenge, colleges and universities implement waste reduction programs during home football games. Schools track and report waste reductions and disposal data that is used to rank the schools.
Fans, help us meet our goal this year of 80% waste diversion at all home football games! Please remember to recycle all your clean paper and cardboard, plastic cups and bottles as well as aluminum cans. All food and service-ware is compostable. Garbage can be left at your seats.
