Whether off the bench or as a starter, Wheeler has provided a spark to the Husky offense during her career. In 2015, she scored two goals and recorded four assists across 19 starts. In the last two years, Wheeler has made 32 appearances for the Huskies. This year, she helped the Huskies start their offense early, picking up an assist in the second game of the year against Michigan State to key a 4-0 blowout.
What is your favorite memory from UW?
One of my favorite memories at UW was freshman year dog piling on Kimby when her goal sent our team to the Sweet Sixteen. Also when Isa was dared to dance with Lesle, and Lesle got us all when she decided to break it down!
How have you grown while at UW?
While at UW I have learned how to persevere - through physical, mental, and emotional pain - that leaning on others is not weakness, but your greatest strength.
Do you have a message for the coaching staff and team?
I want to deeply thank the coaches and the team for the best 4 years of my life. Every day at UW has been a blessing and a joy because of the family we are, that we are in it always, together.
What are your plans after graduating?
After I graduate I will be getting married in May, moving to Georgia, and hope to pursue collegiate coaching as well as my Masters in Teaching.
My senior year of high school, when Lesle recruited me and told me that number 11 was available, I knew it was a sign that God wanted me to be a Husky. And He was absolutely right. I am proud to be a Husky for Life!
